Welcome to The 45s. High octane Rhythm & Blues by four schoolmates from Carlisle, UK.Harnessing their songwriting talent with an explosive repertoire of classic sounds and lyrics, the band pass an admirable nod to International blues legends including Chuck Berry, Muddy Waters and Bo Diddley, together with the outrageous techniques of guitar hero Wilko of Dr. Feelgood.

A great weekend 'down south'. The Wedgewood Rooms in Portsmouth is a superb venue and we thoroughly enjoyed supporting the immense bassist that is Norman Watt-Roy! Thanks for having us. We love playing in Brighton too and are back there this Friday at the Horse and Groom.

Wow! What an amazing weekend. We opened Solfest, played amongst 100s of scooters at the Mod Weekender in Brighton, then at the legendary Eric's in Liverpool...and to cap it all off, Wilko Johnson did us the honour of joining us on stage at the Great British Rhythm and Blues Festival...and called us 'his favourite band'. We have another very busy weekend coming up with Solfest on Friday, the Mod Weekender in Brighton on Saturday, Erics's Bar in Liverpool as part of Beatles week on Sunday and then on Monday we are thrilled to be performing at the Great British RandB Festival in Colne, alongside our hero Wilko Johnson. This Friday we play two sets at the fantastic Cockrock festival near Cockermouth in Cumbria. Then next week we are off on tour in our new van to Brighton, London and Glasgow. Almost the length of the country in 4 days! We can't wait to meet and make new fans!

We have been hard at work recently, rehearsing at the Brickyard in Carlisle for our showcase gig in Liverpool. We have got some great new songs that our management team are confident will complement what we have already written. We will continue to play a few Rhythm and Blues classics in our live set, but here's hoping audiences like our own material too!
We are now booked to play at a number of festivals in the North West this summer. Look out for some exciting news about who we are going to be supporting. It should be great!
We had a great day at Parr Street Studios in Liverpool yesterday. We recorded two tracks - our own song, Shake Me Girl, and Around & Around by Chuck Berry. We will use these as demo tracks when approaching new venues and music industry executives. Our live version of Around & Around, recorded at the BBC studios in Carlisle, is still getting airplay on BBC Radio Cumbria. To hear it, go to the Music section on the website.
The feedback from our gig supporting Wilko Johnson has been fantastic. Thank you for all your positive comments. We will try and get back to play in Glasgow as soon as we can. It is just a little difficult to find the right venue due to the local licensing laws and the fact that we are all under 18.
We are pleased and truly honoured to announce that we have we been invited to open for the great Wilko Johnson at the penultimate gig of his farewell tour at Glasgow 02 ABC on 9th March 2013. Wilko is one of our greatest influences and is a hero.
The 45s are proud to announce we will be playing Liverpool Sound City Festival on Saturday 4th May 2013. Our venue is Elevator, home to bands such as The Wombats, The Hummingbirds, Ian Broudie and many, many other hip Scouse musicians. Tickets to this showcase event will be FREE (first come first served) and we are playing to both fans and industry ears! Things are now moving fast for the 45s. Fans aplenty joining us each day (6,000 facebook likes - wow, thanks to all) and we can now announce that we have secured the services of Richard Turvey, one of the UK's hottest producers, to record a two track demo for our UK assault on the music industry. We will be recording at the biggest studio outside of London (Parr Street, Liverpool) Now we are chomping at the bit for 16th March to arrive!
